AIMS / Ethos
Our overall aims are:
To promote a safe, caring and happy atmosphere, with each class operating as a supportive extra family for each and every child, within the greater family unit of the school.
To develop self-esteem and self-determination in children, providing opportunities for them to learn to respect and value others, themselves and the environment.
To encourage our pupils to develop independence, and to own and justify a point of view, thereby taking increasing responsibility for their own learning and actions.
To foster a positive attitude to learning, respecting others’ perspectives and achievements both within and beyond the school curriculum.
To support pupils to become healthy, adaptable and responsible people, who are learning to make positive and flexible contributions in our increasingly diverse society.
To give all of our pupils full and equal access to all aspects of an enjoyable and broad, rich and balanced curriculum. To encourage them to strive to exceed national expectations in the national curriculum, having regard to their individual capacity and potential to do so.
To build a safe, caring and stimulating environment, where we maximise the potential of all resources and opportunities.
To address the rounded development of children, with a focus on their spiritual, cultural, moral, physical and social development.
To recognise and value each child as a unique individual who has individual needs and strengths. |
